A Private Equity Investment Firm
| Summit Equity is no longer accepting new investments. |
Summit Equity I, LP is a private equity investment firm which invests capital and places professional management in stable, established micro-cap companies in growing markets. Summit traditionally acquires a controlling interest in these Portfolio Companies, nurtures them into larger, more profitable businesses, and then exits within 2 to 7 years.
Candidates for investment customarily possess a strong historic financial history, above-average growth prospects and a unique business model that will generate capital appreciation consistent with the Firm's investment objectives.
Summit's most important contribution to the success of its Portfolio Companies is its introduction of superior management personnel. Summit maintains a deep, talented pool of high caliber CEOs, entrepreneurs and proven business leaders who are inserted into Portfolio Companies where their particular business skills most significantly benefit a specific company. These professionals typically invest their own money in the company they manage and are rewarded through compensation packages that are strongly incentive-based. Summit's Partners work side-by-side with management in formulating and implementing business strategies and oversee the investment from purchase to exit.
Summit targets smaller companies because these businesses typically yield below-market purchase valuations, and sellers of these companies often offer significant owner financing, allowing Summit to purchase target companies on reasonable terms, while employing leverage to enhance investment returns. The smaller deal market is traditionally underserved by banks and private equity investors, yet these smaller companies typically generate superior growth rates.
Investments are made in a variety of industries (manufacturing, distribution, service) in which the capital and expertise provided will have the greatest potential to have a significant impact on the company. Investment returns are generated by making acquisitions at attractive valuations, adding capital and expertise to grow the business and EBITDA, and taking advantage of higher, valuations predicated on intervening growth before exit.
